Tulalip Resort Casino
While underway, we decided to make a stop at the Tulalip Resort Casino to play a bit and perhaps grab a bite to eat before going on the road again.
Once we parked the car the place amazed us. It’s a real classy building with a big waterfall in front; it looks like the type of establishment you would expect to see in Vegas. On the inside it looks equally classy, perhaps a little heavy on the lights, but after all it is a Casino resort so that kind of comes with the territory. Once inside we were met with the sound of slots and a wall of smoke, and I mean a WALL of smoke! Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against smokers and I am an occasional smoker myself, but this was ridiculous. If I had to make one recommendation to them, to expand on at their casino, it would be the ventilation system. In any case, while I checked out some slots my wife eyed the buffet, and since there was no wait we decided on eating first.
We were almost immediately directed to a table by a friendly lady. The food was decent, and I must admit they do have a wide variety on the menu. Asian food, Mexican food and American food, is just a small part of what's available. It’s all there so they have something for everyone. They also have a nice variety of desserts, so on the restaurant part of the resort we had nothing to complain about, decent food and a good service.
After eating we had a go at the slot machines. We are not big players so we never tried our luck on the tables. We did win a small amount that day which we used to grab a bite in the evening on our way back home. The machines were fun and of good quality. The only downside to this casino I can think of is the wall of smoke I mentioned earlier. They should ease up on the ashtrays that are even installed in the bathrooms!
Overall, the staff was friendly enough, though I did see a dealer at one of the tables who was obviously going through the motions, but he could have just been having a bad day. The personnel we encountered during our brief stay were all nice and attentive so no complaints there.
When we were there we were just passing through. Next time around we are planning on staying a few days at the resort. From what we could see of it, it should be a blast.
